Black and White slowly walked along the beach, holding hands as they let the cold, clear water chill their toes. Black was vaguely aware that he was getting tired, but fought it, not wanting to waste his precious time with White. “You know,” he murmured, looking at the darkening sky. “Your mom really has an interesting imagination,” he smirked, half-blushing, and half-jokily. White’s pale face instantly turned scarlet, remembering the phone call with her mother. “Oh, yeah, she certainly does… I mean, I’m only ten, for goodness sake! Why would she think that when I’m out late? I’m responsible, but every second I’m not around her, she thinks I’m with a boy! The only time I actually was with a boy for a relatively long time is now. I just don’t get my mom…” she whispered, her voice trailing off with the slight breeze. White didn’t even realize that they were holding hands until then, and blushed, hoping he couldn’t see her face in the fading light. Black took in everything, unaware that he was a natural observer: one who prefers to stay in the shadows rather than being the center of attention. Black ran his hand through his chestnut brown hair, thinking about when he was young. His parents had never cared about him, much less wanting to know if he was in a relationship or anything. Black had to pay for his own food, clothes, and even his own education. The only thing his parents provided for him was a place to live in. Black would much rather sleep outside on the grass, so often he snuck out and slept in the forest, welcoming the scent of the evergreen trees dancing around him on starry nights. How nice it must be, he thought, to have people that care about you. To actually have friends that sleep over at your house, eat food that your parents provide you happily, and accept gifts from your parents and relatives… That life would’ve been like paradise for Black. Unfortunately for Black, his parents were drug addicts, and had no jobs. Often he had came home only to be beaten by his crazy, drunk father, or sometimes even his own mother made him stay in the basement for five days without food or water, because they were too drunk to remember they had locked him in for a supposedly five minute time-out. To everyone except White, he was a dweeb. He must look perfectly normal to them, other than being almost too smart. They didn’t give him a second thought; they would have never guessed that he was going through this horrible, sick life. While they were out getting pizza and having sleep-over’s, he was working from day to night in order to pay for all of his needs. Black had completely forgot about White, who was standing next to him, watching mesmerized as his eyes darted back and forth, remembering childhood and current memories. She didn’t dare wake him, he was so innocent looking in the moonlight, she just had to stare. When Black came to, he was laying in the soft sand, with White sitting next to him, staring. “Are you okay, Black? You were just there daydreaming or something for, like, twenty minutes.” She murmured, concerned for his well-being. No one had ever been concerned for him before. No one had even cared. No one. But here was practically an angel, sitting right next to him. He felt privileged just to be in the same region as her. “Black? Are you okay?” White’s voice came again, jolting him back into reality. “Oh, yeah, yeah… I’m fine. Sorry if I sort of conked out on you there, White,” he said, sitting up and rubbing his neck. “It’s okay,” she murmured, and said, “I’m soooo tired,” she yawned, stretching her arms out above her. “Yeah, me too,” replied Black, trying not to fall asleep. “Maybe some of my genuinely outdoor-made shuckin’ spaghetti will wake us up,” she said half to herself, and started setting up empty wooden picnic table that was conveniently close by. Black yawned and wearily stood up, stretching. He yawned so widely that with a sharp crack he closed his mouth immediately, feeling his jaw and cheek for anything wrong. “Dinner’s ready,” White called from in the clearing of the forest they had entered. Black walked over to the makeshift camp, grabbing a plate and plopping some good smelling spaghetti on it. They both plopped down on a log, eating their spaghetti quietly and politely. “So, how are you liking the Unova Region, White?” he asked, swallowing his mouthful of food. “Pretty good, actually. It’s really nice here,” she murmured, playing with her food nervously. They finished eating and soon were sitting down on their sleeping bags, leaning against the reassuring bark of a tree. They let Snivy and Hydro come out of their pokeballs and play around with each other. By now, they were tuckered out, and came over to them, setting their heads down in the opposite trainer’s lap. In White’s lap lay Black’s Snivy, and in Black’s lay her Hydro. Snivy squealed excitedly, motioning for White to take out her Pokedex in order to see what Snivy was saying. White took out her Pokedex, went to ‘Pokémon Speech Translator’ and activated it. Suddenly, the Pokedex seemingly came to life when Snivy and Hydro talked. “Hey! Finally you can hear us! We’ve been trying to talk to you for a long time!” said Snivy. “Umm, okay. So what did you want to talk to me about, Snivy?” she asked to the green lizard Pokémon. Snivy whispered an answer, making her have to hold the Pokedex to be able to hear. “Black can’t hear this, can he?” Snivy smirked satisfyingly. “The thing is, he thinks you’re pretty, you know?” Snivy was saying. White blushed from head to toe. Her? Pretty? She certainly had never thought that she of all people would be pretty. “He has dreams of you, White. He tells me,” said Snivy, motioning towards Black. “Very weird, human dreams are. He said something about you two putting your mouths together and undressing. Weird, right? I can never understand why humans would do that. Why do they wear clothes, anyway? It would be much smarter to not have any clothes, so when girl Pokémon come, you can eas—“ “Okay, okay, I get the point!” White hissed. Black was dreaming of them kissing? And even more, then undressing? True, White had dreams like that of Black, but she would have never thought that he thought of her that much. Black sat against a tree, listening as Hydro told him everything that White had dreamed or thought of him. White actually liked him? That much? It was like a dream come true. But, of course, came the possibility that this Pokémon was lying to him. How can I risk asking her if it’s true without getting rejected? He thought to himself silently. If what Hydro was telling him was true, then that meant that White liked him! No, not just liked – loved.

Pokemon Black & White #8 - White
"I--" White was pulled underwater by an unknown force. White screamed at the top of her lungs, only to receive a mouthful of water. I just wasted some of my air. I might not get any more. She was going to drown. White clutched at her neck, but found no air. Is this where I'm going to die? In an ocean that I don't even know the name of? Dark spots flickered across her eyelids. So I am going to die... A blue flash appeared in above her. Was it a pokemon? Or was it Black? The figure moved closer. It was Black! But she was going to die, and there was nothing he could do about it. Black outstretched his arms to bring her face close to his. What the heck is he doing? Their mouths connected; but not in a kiss. Black breathed out his air into her mouth, hoping for her to get some air. Sweet, cold air entered her lungs. Her blue eyes popped open. She was back; but just for a short time. Black had no air. Black grabbed her hand and swam up, with his mouth turning blue from lack of air. He sacrificed his air for me, White thought, grateful. As their heads popped out of the water, Black took in huge gasps of air; as did White. They rushed towards the beach and collapsed on the ground, letting the waves lap at their feet. "What was it? The thing that pulled me under." White asked, sucking in the fresh air. Black looked up, his mouth only light blue now, and murmured, "It was a Tentacruel," He stared at White's blue eyes for a moment, then asked, "What was it that you had wanted to say to me before? I didn't catch all of it." White sat up, rubbing sand off her clothes. "I was going to say that I hope that you win, Black, and that--" movement ahead of them caught White's attention. Black followed her eyes and saw it too. "Hey, ya shuck-faced dweeb! Did you go for a love swim?" Kyle laughed, gesturing to their wet clothes, and that they were still holding hands. White felt her face and his redden. "None of your business, bee brain." Black called to him, his face in a smirk. Kyle finally came over to them, panting, and gasped, "Oh, I get it. So you didn't kiss 'er yet, did ya? Were you plannin' to before old Kyle got in the way?" he accused, straitening his green hair. Before Black could say anything, White jumped to her feet, furious. "No, you piece of klunk! He just saved my life from drowning; that's not a shuckin' love ride!" she whispered, still exhausted from the swim. Kyle's eyes widened and said, "You? You couldn't save a snail! Now, It's time to battle, so hurry up, ya lovebird!" he shouted to Black, and ran back to drier ground, throwing out his pokeball. The red and white ball burst into white light, and then turned into Tepig, the fire type pokemon starter. Kyle has a big advantage. Black joined him on the so called battlefield. "Although I have a disadvantage, I'll still whoop you're shuckin' butt. Let's go, Snivy!" he yelled, and Snivy came out from behind him, already out of his pokeball. Kyle had the first move. "Tepig, use ember! Hurry up!" Tepig hastily used ember, but Snivy easily dodged out of it's way. "Snivy, use leaf storm, you can do it!" Snivy sent out a tornado of leafs hurling towards Tepig at a lightning fast speed. It hit Tepig like a sledgehammer, making him faint almost too easily. Black's eyes widened, whispering, "Oh, shuck, that was way too easy. And I used a grass type against a fire type and won..." Kyle's face turned red with anger and rage. "You cheated! There's no way a lousy grass type can one-shot my Tepig! You cheated!" he shouted, pointing at Black, furious. Black stood his ground and merely said, "Well, I just did." and walked away. White ran to catch up to him, but a hand grabbed her arm. Kyle pulled her towards him, forcing her to hug him. "Black! Help!" she shouted, hoping that he would hear. Kyle put his hands on her waist and leaned forward... "Hey! Drop her!" Black shouted, and was on him in an instant. Kyle simply said, "Pokabu, use ember on Black. Yes, I said Black! I don' care if he's human! Just shuckin' do it, Tepig!" he leaned forward again and forced her not to move. She struggled, but she wasn't strong enough. Kyle's mouth connected with hers, and his spit rubbed against her mouth. She gagged out loud, but when she opened her mouth, he put his tongue in hers. Gross! She had to breathe through her nose. She kicked at him, punched him, but it was no use. His hands went all over her body; her face, her legs, her breast, and her... lower spot. Was she getting raped? She headbutted Kyle, breaking him from her for just a moment. Black, having defeated Tepig with Snivy, jumped on White, pushing her away just before Kyle was going to kiss her again. Black got up immediently and stood between Kyle and White. "You're not going to get a girlfriend by raping them, Kyle. Go away. Now." he whispered, all of his angers of the day washing out through that single sentence. Kyle stumbled away, running from the attacking Snivy. Black bent over to check on White. Her eyes were wide, but at least she was breathing. She wearily sat up, pulling her shirt to it's proper level; which was originally pulled down my Kyle. "I... I've never been kissed before, but that was gross. That wasn't even kissing, that was getting raped... I hate Kyle, I just hate him!" she stormed, rubbing her neck. Black sat down beside her, putting his hand on hers. She looked up briefly and then lay her head down on the sand, exhausted. His eyes flickered. Was he... jealous? Jealous that Kyle had kissed her, even though it was forced? Did Black actually like her? The sky was almost completely black now, so they could see the stars twinkling down on them. "It's too late to go back home, I think. My parents don't really care about me," he trailed off, and she could see the faintest trace of a tear in his eyes. "I'll just call my parents and say that I'm having a sleepover with my friend." White said, planning not to mention that her friend was a boy. She took out her cell phone and dialed her house's phone number. The volume of the phone was so loud that even Black could her what her mom was saying. "Hello? Is this White? Oh, hello, White! Where have you been? We've been worried sick about you! It's so late! Did you get in trouble? Are you okay? Did you have sex, for goodness sake? Is that why you're outside so late? You did it with a boy? White, you should know better..." White blushed furiously, knowing that Black could hear what his mom was saying. "No, no mom! My friend just got challenged to a pokemon battle and I went to look, and then my friend wanted me to, uh, have a sleepover." White said, waiting for an answer. "Who is this friend of yours? Is it a boy or girl?" White was going to blow it... Black nodded towards the phone. White handed him the phone, sighing. Black said into the phone, "Hello, is this White's mother? Hi, I'm black, nice to meet you. I was wondering if you would let her stay the night. My parents and I are camping." he said, trying to sound honest. "Umm, let me think about it. Let me talk to White for a second, okay? Thank you, Black." White's mom, unaware that the volume was high, said, "Well, he certainly sounds like a nice young fellow. Is he your boyfriend? Did you have sex? You can't hide things forever, White. You must like him, you sound like you do, and boy, do I know that when you sound like that, you like someone A LOT!" White blushed as red as lava, embarrassed to the core. "Mom! He can here every word you're saying! You're embarrassing me! No, we did not do that yet, mom!" "Yet? What do you mean yet? So you are going to have sex with him?" "MOM! He can hear every word! No, I'm probably not going to, mom! Can I sleep over or not? Jeez, mom!" "Fine, fine... Bye, Wh--" she hung up on her mother. She looked at Black, seeing if he was listening. Black was looking at the ocean. "So," he said, looking into her blue eyes. "I guess it's okay then,"

Pokemon Black & White #7 - Black
Black and White walked along the beach shore, the water lapping at their feet. White's eyes gleamed with excitement, and she murmured, "Wanna go swimming? We still have time." he looked at her clear, river blue eyes, then looked at the ocean. "Okay," he answered. "Since we don't have bathing suits I guess we could just swim in our clothes," said White, already up to her knees in water. Black followed her until it was up to their waists. "You have an unfair advantage," he joked, "You have a water pokemon," he laughed, watching Snivy hanging onto Hydro's feet as it swam. White laughed, then took Black hand and went deeper into the ocean. Black ran after her, keeping his hand on hers. They arrived at a sandbar so they could stand. They were soaking wet, Black noticed. Their hands still holding onto each other, White whispered, "Brrr, it's cold now," she shivered. Her skin was cool against his. White opened her eyes and looked into his eyes, and he once again realized how beautiful she was. "Black, I have something to tell you... I--" White was pulled underwater by an unknown force.
Pokemon Black & White #6 - White
White and Black stepped off the bus along with a few other people, and started walking. White thought about Black as they walked. He's so...perfect. It was obvious that a boy as perfect as him wouldn't like an ugly girl like her, but she still had to try, right? After a little walking, they stopped for a quick rest. "The Beach is a little while away from here," he explained, plopping onto the soft grass and lying down. White lay down beside him, under the shade of a tree. They lay silent for a while, letting there eyes rest under the shade of the massive oak. "So," White said, breaking the silence. "We have a while before we're supposed to be on the beach. What do you want to do?" she asked, trying to see his eyes under the brim of his hat. He sat up and straitened his hat, saying, "I don't really know. Maybe we could play with our pokemon." They let out their pokemon: A sleek green Snivy and a sea blue Oshawatt named Hydro. "Cool, you have an Oshawatt! This is my Snivy. He's a fiesty one." he joked. White patted Hydro on the head and said, "This is Hydro. Hi, Snivy." she smiled kindly and ran her hand along it's sleek, smooth skin. Snivy purred in pleasure, rubbing against her. Black had Hydro in his lap, petting it and feeding it some special kind of food. "What's that?" White asked, curious. Black looked up. "It's my special pokemon food for water types. I have some for Snivy, too." He handed Snivy some green food and then stood up, brushing grass off his pants. White stood up, too. "I guess we should go to the beach now," she said, and on they trekked.
Pokemon Black & White #5 - Black
Black was embarrassed beyond belief. Having to have a girl stand up for him? Yeah, she was the best girl in the universe, but still... White might think of him as a scaredy-cat now, for all he knew. Black lead White to the bus dispersal, and Black murmured, "That was an interesting day..." White looked at the bus ahead of them. "Yeah. Sorry if I made you embarrassed or anything, Black. But in the end, you did sound pretty heroic," she half-joked. Black gave her one of his rare-but-perfect smiles. All Black knew is that he kind of smiled, and not that it looked perfect, or even good... She blushed from head-to-toe, but Black was staring at the ground, thinking. "Is that our bus?" White asked, pointing at the oldest, most ugly bus in Unova. "Yeah, it is. I'm afraid that it won't be a comfy ride." he smirked, and then they entered the raggedy bus. The bus was crowded, so they had to sit four to a seat, which was one more than usual. Black grabbed a window seat before anyone else could take it. White was crammed in next to him, followed by two rich-looking boys. The bus rumbled and finally took off, bumping and jostling us around. Everyone moaned when we hit the brakes, because that just made us all shoot forward and almost smash our noses to death. The boy sitting next to White put his arms around her and said casually, "So, you happy 'bout being picked as The Rich-One's girlfriend?" he leaned over to kiss her on the lips. Acting as if the same being, Black and White both smacked him away, and White unlatched his arm to her waist. The boy's eyes glinted. "Someone seems a little jealous, eh, girl? He kiss you yet?" he snickered, motioning at black. Black felt his face heat up like an inferno. White blushed and mumbled, "Nunya," the boy looked at her, confused. "Nunya? What the heck is Nunya?" White smirked, and said, "Nunya business, boy." The boy's face was red with anger and embarrassment. "Ha ha, very funny. Now I've gotta go home; see ya later, boy," his eyes menacingly darted to Black's face. After the boys left, Black said, "That was a pretty good joke. I should remember that one," he smiled. Why did people keep saying she was his girlfriend? Before he could ponder any more on that, the bus lurched to a stop. They were at their destination.

Pokemon Black & White #4 - White
White quietly opened the door to the starch white classroom. All eyes immediently turned to her. Boys whispered and gaped-- was she really that ugly? -- and girls snickered and gossiped amongst themselves. The teacher, Ms. Greenburg, smiled kindly and announced her to the class. "Class, this is our new student I've told you about. Everyone say hello to White." she announced, motioning to White. White blushed, unused to all of this attention. A few hoots and hollers came from the boys, and the girls regarded her with cold hard jealousy. She took stock of the room, searching for a friendly face. In the back, surrounded by a couple of boys and girls, sat a handsome boy in a blue jacket. He had brown hair, and all-knowing brown eyes. He smiled, his white teeth almost blinding her. White blinked, and felt her face reddening. "Umm, hi. My name's White," she murmered quietly. She was very shy; especially when there was an adult right next to her. The teacher smiled again and said, "You can take a seat now, White. We're going to study the Unova Region today. I'm sure that whoever you sit next to will be happy to refresh your mind and guide you for a couple of days." White nodded, knowing that her face must be bright scarlet. She slowly walked up the boy in the blue jacket and sat beside him. "Hi, I'm Black. Nice to meet you," the boy said, his eyes shining. "Hi," was all she could get out of her mouth. She looked around the classroom again, trying not to stare too much at Black's face. He was so...so awesome, cute, and good. Handsome, even. "Now class, please flip to page fifty two in your textbooks." said Ms. Greenburg. Black leaned down and picked up two textbooks that were beneath his seat. "Here," he said, handing her a green one. "Thanks," she murmured, taking out her pencil. "Right now we're going to go over Nuvema Town, which is here, of course," he looked up at her from his textbook, "And, umm, we're currently studying the pokemon around here." he finished, looking down, apparently very interested in his watch. The phone rang, echoing through the classroom. The teacher walked over to the phone, her heels tapping loudly against the marble floor. "Hello? Oh, is that right? Okay. Yes, yes, of course. I'll be right there." She hung up. "Okay, class I'll be back in a jiffey, so don't do anything bad while I'm gone. Black, since you're the brains around here, you'll be in charge while I'm gone." She winked at us and then exited the classroom. Laughter erupted from everyone in class. "You? In charge of us? How stupid is that? Leaving the dork as our leader. Hmph!" said a boy with green hair. Black blushed, obviously embarrassed. White took a step forward and said, "It wouldn't be any better if you were in charge, Kyle." she said, reading his name from the tag on his shirt. He looked at Black when he spoke, "Oh, so you've got a girlfriend, do ya? Is she gonna fight for ya too, dweeb?" he smirked, then winked at White. White felt anger rise in her chest, building up like a volcano about to blow. "Watch your mouth, Kyle! And his name is Black, as if a kid like you would know. And I'm not his girlfriend!" she said, her eyes now like blue flames. Kyle took a step back, only now seeming to realize that she existed. "Looks like you have a crush, girl. I wouldn't talk like that with me around, White." he spit at White. "How come your girlfriend is doin' all the work, shuck face? Too scared?" he snickered, and some of the other kids, probably his friends, laughed at Black. White could practically see the anger build up in Black's eyes. She felt the heat coming off his skin like liquid fire. The icy fear from before had disappeared completely; now all that was left was rage, flaming, fiery rage. His gaze turned to steel, his hand fell towards his pockets. "Then let's battle," he said, hiding his anger very well. "You? Battle me? You're gonna get pounded, kid. You're gonna go cryin' to your momma when this is over, boy. Nine thirty eight; The Beach." Kyle said bravely, but White could see the icy cold fear behind his smirk. Black's fists unclenched, relieved. "Fine. I'll be there," he said simply, and grabbed his backpack and left, one second before the bell rang. White hurried after him, her heart thudding in her chest. Did he really think that she was his girlfriend? How was Black a dweeb? Black was the coolest, not to mention handsome, boy she knew. Kyle must have been jealous, she thought. She caught up with Black, who's eyes were clouded, as if in deep thought. Looking up, he murmured, "Sorry about that, White. Don't know what came over me." His voice was sad; his eyes sincere. "It's okay. I thought it was pretty cool back there, you standing up for yourself like that, Black," she admitted out loud, hoping to cheer this boy up. His eyes lightened, and his face blushed. He looked down at the ground as he walked. "Uh, thanks. I guess it was kind of cool." he said, his gaze flickered towards her, then towards the ground again. "Can I come? I want to see you pound that Kyle kid. He's mean." she smiled, her blue eyes shining brightly. Black looked up and caught her gaze, blushing. "Umm, sure, White. Uh, umm, would you want to study with me or whatever before that?" his eyes glinted in the morning light. Black wanted to study with her? She was a nobody, and according to everyone else, he was too, although to her he was the most amazing boy ever. She smiled shyly, and whispered, "Sure, um, do you get off at Newbrooke?" she asked, thinking of her new home. "Yeah," he murmured. Was he shy? To her? All these years White had thought that she was the ugliest girl on the planet and now someone wanted to study with her. Not just somebody though; Black. The most amazing boy in the whole universe. No, the most amazing boy ever. "Okay, then," he said, and they set off towards their next class.
Pokemon Black & White #3 - Black
Black went to school like normal, hanging out in the back of the room; reading his one thousand six hundred and twenty five page book. To everyone else, it was a normal day. But for Black, it was like there was a huge exam in science or something. There was a new girl coming today. The new girl. The very same girl that he had been spying on the other night. Black tapped his pencil silently, wishing time would speed up. I wish I could make a good first impression on her, he thought. Otherwise, he would never get to be friends with the most beautiful girl in the Unova Region. No, the entire world, in fact. He needed to be nice, charming, cool; he was nice, but most people considered him a nerd because he was 'too smart'. Would the girl be nice? Would she even pay the slightest bit of attention to him and just sit with the other girls and boys that were considered cool? In a few seconds, Black would find out.
Pokemon Black & White #2 - White
White stared at the bush, swearing that she had seen movement behind it. Before she could move towards the bush, her mom called, "White, come help me with the boxes! They're heavy!" so White went to help her mom. White couldn't help but wondering whether there might be some cute boys at her new school. She heaved another cardboard box up into her arms and set off towards the house: her home.
After emptying the boxes from the moving van, it pulled away and drove on towards another client's moving needs. White sat in her new room, staring out of the window, looking at the same scarlet sky that Black was looking at. "Oh, what a day, Hydro," she whispered as she cuddled her Oshawatt in her arms. "What a day," she whispered again, looking into the distance. What a day.

Pokemon Black & White #1 - Black
Black lay staring up at the scarlet sky, patting his Snivy's sleek green head. The Pidoves were chirping loudly, and his new neighbor was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, a snow white van careened around the sharp corner and shuttered to an abrupt halt outside the white house. A tall, brown-haired girl wearing a pink and white hat jumped out of the passenger's seat, her blue eyes brimming with excitement. The girl was beautiful in every way: her eyes sea blue, her lips fine and curved, and her elegant Oshawatt beside her. She looked around, mystified, and her eyes fell on the bush in which Black was hiding from. He tensed, preparing to run. But then her eyes moved elsewhere, not in the least bit suspiscious. Black let out a muffled sigh of relief; she hadn't seen him after all. Whether he liked it or not, Black was going to have a neighbor.
