Black & White #1 - Black

I just got Pokemon White and it's AWESOME! Just saying...
Black took every detail in, not even breaking a sweat. Breathe in, breathe out. Call out attacks, then accept his next place in line. But this was different. At the Nuvema Town Tournament, Black had never expected to get to the finals. Now this was his last battle he must face. Across the grassy field stood his final opponent. She had brown hair and ocean blue eyes that sparkled in the sunlight. "Go, Blue!" called Black, letting his Oshawatt out of his pokeball. "Come on out, Hydro!" said the girl, letting out... an Oshawatt. Oshawatt vs Oshawatt? This was going to be interesting. "Blue, use Fury Cutter, go!" he commanded his companion. "Hydro, intercept with Tackle!" Hydro smashed into Blue at top speed, sending him toppling. "You can do this, Blue! Use Hydro Pump, let's go!" The crowd murmured. They didn't expect an Oshawatt to know that, did they? Blue let out a torrent of sea blue water, enveloping the opponent's Oshawatt. "Hydro! Get out of there and use Shell Slash, now!" Hydro jumped out of the pool of water, panting madly. It took the shell of of its chest and threw it at Blue, aiming accurately. It hit straight on, making Blue fall to the ground. "Come on, Blue! You can do this!" he whispered to his fallen companion. Blue hastily got up, sweat pouring down its sides. Suddenly, at the exact same time, both Oshawatt fell over, fainted. The crowd gaped. The judge was stunned. "In the first time in history, we have a tie for the winner of the Nuvema Tournament! That means that both of you will get magnificent prizes! Not only will you two become the Champions of Nuvema Town, but you will get your own fan club!" he announced. Fan club? I don't want a fan club... I just wanted to test my skills! He looked over at the girl in confusion, only to realize that she had the same look of confusion on her face. "Now, go on home, and then you'll see," he said to them, gesturing for them to go back home. "But take it slow, will you?" he whispered in their ears. They turned and set off towards their houses, walking together. "Your Oshawatt is pretty strong," said the girl. "Yeah, and so was yours. Nice to meet you, I'm Black." he said, shaking her hand. The handshake kept going for a long time, until finally, they were jsut holding hands. Black looked at her, taking in everything. "Oh yeah, my name is White," she murmured, blushing faintly. "I never would've expected a tie," she said. "Yeah, me neither. Especially not the fan club," he laughed. "I mean, I entered just to test my skills and train, not to have a fan club," he mused, fingering his jackets zipper. "Yeah. Same here..." she trailed off, listening. They both heard the sound of drums. Did they hear... circus music? "Is that circus music? I never thought it was this early in the year," they both murmured at the same time, not bothering to blush out of curiosity. "I think so," Black answered. "Maybe its our fan club," White mused uneasily. "I know one thing for sure, though. I wouldn't want a big parade following me when I train..." his voice trailed off, for he saw someone turn the corner ahead. "Quick, let's hide in the bushes!" whispered White, not wanting to be trailed by a parade of clowns or something. They ducked inside of the forest, hiding behind trees and bushes, lying down on their stomachs. The parade grew closer, and they could see it now. It turned out that it wasn't a circus parade, because the people were wearing 'We love Black & White' shirts and hats. "Oh, wow... this is way too much." White whispered, looking at the wigs featuring their hats and hair. "You think?" whispered Black, staring at a woman with a 'Black' bra, featuring him. "Oh, my god... way too much," he murmured, pointing towards the woman with him on her bra. White's eyes bulged. "This sucks..." she said, waiting for the parade to go by. Are they going to go to our houses and keep us up all night? Apparently, the thought was mutual, because the next thing White did was say, "I'm not gonna sleep with all that racket," she seethed at the parade. "I thought winning was supposed to be a good thing." spat Black at the ground underneath the parade's feet. "I know a place that I found once when I was camping on my first day as a trainer," White said, thinking. "We could hide their for a while, until the parade gives up or goes away." she finished, then stood up slowly and brushed the leaves off of her shorts. Then she ran into the forest. Black followed, ducking below the hedge-line.
